Hot House Veggies

The green house is doing well this summer.
Tomatoes...

Zucchini and yellow crook neck squash...
We had some of these fryed in a little butter with some salt and pepper.
It was a side dish for the some of the salmon David pulled from the Kenai this summer.
David, John, and Jeremy pulled up 64. Some of them were 15 pounds plus!!!

and bell peppers....
Next year we are thinking about trying corn.

New Window

David took out the upstairs bathroom window and replaced it with glass blocks.
It looks really nice!
All we need to do now is paint the trim same as the window next to it.

Wood Cradles

About a week ago I picked up shiny new used pallets at 2nd Chance.
Brian, my inside source helped me get them for $2.00 each.
Sweet deal.
Brian did all the work of putting the 2 x4's on.
I helped him lay out the pallets
This means all the wood is now where the catamaran used to be stored.
See....?

Here is a good shot of the wheelbarrow that Nicholas and I put together spring of 2011
so he could help move the lilacs and the flowers boxes.

The canoes, kayak and catamaran were shifted closer to the lake.
Near the rose bushes on the fence.
Dad is scheduled to cut down trees in the Kenley's back yard and bring the firewood home.
So now we have a place to put it.

New Garden Box

David is modeling the garden box in the back yard.
He is pointing to the center box which is full of potatoes.

D

In this one he is directing your attention to the box on the right with broccoli and  onions.

The box on the left has about 4 cabbage plants.

This is the other side of the box.
David created the retaining wall with 20 railroad ties.
He staggered the re-bar and pounded into the  ground about 14 inches.
The cement pads are from the driveway side of the house that we moved last fall.

Everything is growing great and we love the boxes!!!
